Bach’s Lunch concert #2: String Quintet
Guest violist and artistic director of Los Angeles Baroque Lindsey Strand-Polyak joins SD Baroque for Mozart’s first String Quintet, K. 174 in B-flat major, an important early piece that foreshadows the composer’s later masterpieces, and pre-dates them by some 15 years.
Bach’s Lunch concert #3: Vivaldi Gloria
SD Baroque celebrates the Christmas season with Vivaldi’s joyous Gloria RV 589 and “Winter” from the Four Seasons, with a full chamber orchestra and chorus. Featuring Isaac Allen, soloist (Hausmann Quartet, San Diego State University).

SD Baroque again joins forces with up-and-coming LA-based soprano Addy Sterrett (last seen with us in 2023), for a program centered on Italian vocal chamber works from the early 18th century, including Alessandro Scarlatti’s exquisite L’Olimpia and Handel’s Crudel tiranno amor HWV 97.

Multi-talented soprano Katie Hickey unites with SD Baroque for a program of French baroque Airs de cours, including music by Lully, Lambert, Charpentier, and others.

SD Baroque marks the end of the Lenten season with a program highlighted by Vivaldi’s Stabat Mater. Featuring soprano MaryRuth Miller and mezzo soprano Mindy Ella Chu.

In the final program of our 10th anniversary season, SD Baroque celebrates great works of literature as depicted in music from the Baroque era, including Telemann’s Don Quixote and Gulliver’s Travels suites, Locke’s Tempest, and Purcell’s Fairy Queen.
Bach’s Lunch concert #1: Viola + cello
Our opening program of the season showcases the viola and the cello, both uncommon solo instruments during the Baroque period, with works by Gabrielli, Marcello, Boccherini, and Schaffrath. We welcome guest artist Ruben Valenzuela (organ), artistic director of Bach Collegium San Diego.
